We are going to be using a lot of diverse technologies in development. Below are some links to things you can be checking out and educating yourself about that will\might be relevant to development.

Disclaimer: All technologies are subject to change at this point. This is just a current "forecast" of some of the things you may/will likely need to know about.

There was some discussion yesterday that this ( EDX course may be applicable to those interested in engine work (particularly graphics). While we certainly won't be doing raytracing and things of that nature, the first part of the course is implementing a 3d environment with a movable camera in C++ and OpenGL. If nothing else, it will be exposure to the technologies.

books wise;
i definatley reccomend the opengl superbible
also game engine architecture.

As long as we're talking about books, I'm gonna throw in a plug for Accelerated C++. It's a great foundation for C++ written for people who already have a basic understanding of programming, I'd heartily recommend it if you're more used to another language and have only dabbled with C++.

Learn C The Hard Way is a pretty good introduction (also free) for people who know programming but not necessarily C. C++ is similar, but a lot easier IMO, so this would be a good basis if you want to begin contributing.
